La Grange
Animal chic hotel
A historic, family-run meublé located in Entrèves, Courmayeur, at the foot of Mont Blanc. The property combines the comfort of hotel hospitality with an authentic experience in close contact with nature, thanks to the presence of a farm with numerous farm animals, many of which have been rescued from difficult situations.
The project was created with the aim of helping guests rediscover a simpler, more “rural” way of life, offering families, children, and adults the opportunity to interact with the animals in the surrounding meadows and within the property’s spaces.
Brand identity
The goal was to represent the wide variety of animals present on the farm and convey the idea of a large family, as the animals live in close contact with the owners, who consider them an integral part of the household.
The identity was developed with a clean and minimal style. The silhouettes of the main animals were created in outline form, highly stylized while still preserving their distinctive features. All elements are gathered under a roof, symbol of the home and the family bond that defines the experience of the meublé. The “La Grange” lettering was custom designed, without using existing fonts.
The wordmark is topped by a wheat ear, a requested element from the client and taken from the previous logo, referring to the meaning of grange (“barn” in French). To complete the mark, the year of establishment of the meublé was also included.
The color palette was built using desaturated pastel tones, inspired by vintage atmospheres and 1960s–1970s graphic design, in line with the rustic and traditional style of the meublé. Each animal was assigned a different color, to visually convey a sense of joy and to express the feeling of serenity experienced at La Grange meublé.
